RFI Engineering, a leading manufacturer of smart data solutions, access controllers, port controllers and remote management accessories, today announced three new additions to its access controller product line.
The entry-level D-controller remote console access controller has been designed to provide remote access for up to 4 network devices or appliances such as Cisco, HP, 3Com and Juniper access routers and switches. The D-controller can be used for branch offices and small enterprises having more than one network appliance.
The smart P-controller remote access device controller provides remote access and remote power switch reboot functionality support for up to 4 network servers or appliances (e.g. for a remote power cycle reset). The P-controller comes with 1-4 universal Remote Power Switches that can be used to remotely control the power up to 4 external devices, such as network routers.
The Remote Power Switch unit supports universal IEC320-C14 type input and IEC320-C13 output connectors to easily fit between the power cord and the device under control.
The remote access device controller (P-controller) is specially designed to be used in the fast-growing out-of-band management market segment to improve response times and customer service, to reduce support costs and field service visits and to reduce dependency on third parties.
The latest addition to the sophisticated access controller product family is the M-controller access controller. The M-controller has been designed to provide distant console access using a new generation of Remote Power Switches. The distant console access controller uses cabling to connect machines up to 300 meters. The controller is specially targeted for the Industrial M2M market to improve cost of plant management, security, supply chain, quality, alert management and subsequently reduce machine downtime.
The smart Remote Power Switch is next to its standard feature of remote power control also capable of measuring voltage, current and e.g. temperature of the connected devices. The next generation Remote Power Switches will handle “push and pull” related information to the connected devices.
All access controllers are out-of-the-box solutions and can be used stand-alone or in combination with the CDMA/CDMA1x data router (C-router) or the GSM/GPRS data router (G-router).
“The D-controller, P-controller and M-controller provide 100% reliable, secure multiple access control where customers need it,” said Peter Calis, CEO of RFI Engineering. “This announcement reinforces the significance of the growing M2M Telecom market and the commitment of RFI Engineering.”
