Louvain-la-Neuve, October 19, 2012 – I.R.I.S., a technology company (listed on EURONEXT Brussels: IRI), specializing in Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Optimized IT Infrastructure (ICT) is very pleased to announce the deployment of IRISCapture™ Pro for Forms at Mobiel Centre Marktonderzoek, a Dutch company specialized in market researches.
Mobiel Centre Marktonderzoek is the largest independent field research organization in The Netherlands. It employs more than 50 employees and relies on 1.000 interviewers all over the country. To give a few figures: MCM conducts 1.000 surveys per year and generates more than 1.000.000 contact moments amongst which 300.000 interviews are conducted in Schiphol airport. To collect the data, MCM uses modern tools such as questionnaires via internet or iPads but also paper questionnaires.
The challenge of MCM is to provide in a short time accurate figures and statistics to their clients. However, until now, paper questionnaires were manually encoded: it can take several weeks to enter all the data before being able to analyze a survey and deliver statistics. This process was time-consuming and expensive. Moreover, MCM must always keep a good visibility on the survey results and must be able to quickly retrieve a specific questionnaire at anytime. This is a huge challenge when a survey gathers thousands of paper pages. A single survey can go from 50.000 to 200.000 questionnaires and a questionnaire often contains several pages!
All those reasons convinced MCM to move to an automatic processing of the paper surveys. Today, all paper forms are scanned with a Canon MFP and automatically read by IRISCapture™ Pro for Forms. IRISCapture™ analyzes the form images and extracts the key data. Data are then exported in CSV files allowing a quick and easy analysis.
The benefits for MCM are numerous:
- Results accuracy is improved: the automatic recognition of answers is done with a very high recognition rate allowing a reduction of encoding errors.
- Productivity is increased: the number of persons dedicated to the questionnaires encoding has decreased from 5 to only 1.
- Higher reactivity: the questionnaires processing time has been reduced from several weeks to 2 days.
- Better visibility: it’s now easier to retrieve surveys’ questionnaires and results analysis.
