BARCELONA, HP Preferred Partner Conference, September 21, 2006 - HP today announced that it is rewarding its Preferred Partners with a 30 percent compensation bonus for selling total HP solutions as well as a new Gold accreditation.
In line with its channel strategy, HP's focus is on supporting partners who choose to grow their business with HP. By leveraging the power of the HP portfolio, more Preferred Partners will be able to significantly accelerate their rewards by attaching HP products and services, starting in November 2006.
Additional enhancements to the compensation scheme include an increased focus on specialisation rewards, including a doubled investment in HP Services compensation, as well as streamlined communications and processes, featuring a new compensation portal. Building upon the current success of the Preferred Partner Programme, the new Gold accreditation is designed for partners who have deepened their speciality expertise while maintaining high levels of customer service capabilities.
"The Gold accreditation is a natural evolution in our Preferred Partner Programme," said Jos Brenkel, vice president, Solution Partners Organisation, HP Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). "It's a direct result of feedback we got from our top resellers who have invested heavily with us to ensure long-term mutual growth and profitability."
Detailed criteria to obtain the new Gold level will be communicated to Preferred Partners during the start of HP's new fiscal year, with key focus areas to include specialisations, training and education, and dedicated HP customer support. Gold partners will in turn benefit from the following:
* Increased market differentiation through the exclusive use of the Gold Preferred Partner logo
* Business growth through increased compensation, preferential customer leads, and support
South African Preferred Partner, Bromide Technologies, who sits on HP's Partner Advisory Board, welcomes the introduction of the differentiating Gold level: "We invest heavily in HP, both in terms of certification and customer service capabilities, so it only makes sense that we can achieve an additional level of recognition and benefits as a result," said Louis Steyn, sales and marketing director.
Bromide Technologies recently won its largest deal, both in terms of revenue and units, which was also one of the largest server deals executed by a reseller in the history of South Africa.
"HP's new Gold accreditation furthers differentiation and growth opportunities for its Preferred Partners," said Jeremy Davies, senior partner, Context. "I believe it's the next logical step for the Preferred Partner Programme."
Since the Preferred Partner Programme's inception in late 2005, HP has distributed close to $200 million in compensation to its top resellers and devoted more than $100 million in channel programmes, marketing development activities, and training and certification.
Approximately 5,000 Preferred Partners hold close to 2,000 specialisations across HP's portfolio, contributing an impressive 77 percent to HP's total EMEA indirect revenues.
