Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ: BORL), the global leader for Software Delivery Optimization (SDO), announced today that industry veteran Jonathan Schoonmaker has joined the company as senior vice president of human resources. An expert in recruiting top talent and building the development foundation and systems needed to support long-term corporate objectives, Mr. Schoonmaker brings to Borland more than 20 years of experience in developing and executing successful human resources within global organizations.

Mr. Schoonmaker joins Borland from Business Objects where, as senior vice president of human resources, he oversaw recruitment and retention programs as the company grew from 2,000 employees to more than 5,500 employees. He also helped successfully complete five acquisition and integration programs in less than four years. Before that, he served as an executive officer at Marimba, Inc., and Corporate Vice President of Human Resources at Cadence Design Systems.
As Cadence’s corporate vice president of human resources, Mr. Schoonmaker focused on improving customer service and organizational productivity through organizational re-design, employee self-service initiatives and improved communications and management development. He was also a member of the human resources teams at VLSI Technology and Philips Electronics. Mr. Schoonmaker began his career as a recruiter for General Electric. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communications from Ohio University
Effective immediately, Mr. Schoonmaker will manage all areas of Borland human resources, including compensation and benefits, staffing, employee relations, HR information systems and organizational design and development.
