FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Nov. 15, 2005 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced the general availability of Citrix Presentation Server™ Management Pack for Microsoft Operations Manager 2005. The newest version of the Management Pack works in conjunction with Microsoft Operations Manager to easily and intelligently monitor deployments of current and prior versions of Citrix Presentation Server on a proactive basis, and immediately alert administrators to potential problems.
Enterprises using Microsoft Operations Manager can monitor a wide range of critical desktop and infrastructure assets, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL and the core Windows operating system from one central location. With Citrix’s new Management Pack, these same enterprises can incorporate views of Presentation Server farms into this single point of management, increasing the value of their investments in both Microsoft and Citrix technologies. Presentation Server Management Pack for Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 leverages close work between Citrix and Microsoft to give a deeper level of visibility into the current state of Presentation Server systems.
“As networks become more complex and server infrastructure continues its relentless build-out, the ability to cost-effectively manage systems and services throughout a global organization has become a top priority for corporate IT departments,” said Felicity McGourty, director of marketing for the Windows and Enterprise Management division at Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft Operations Manager and Citrix Presentation Server are two powerful tools IT departments employ to help reduce complexity and cost associated with managing IT infrastructure. Linking these tools together provides administrators with a comprehensive, centralized view for managing today’s distributed environments.”
Presentation Server allows enterprises to quickly deliver client/server applications, eliminating physical barriers to work and centralizing key information assets. With this centralization, IT managers enjoy enhanced administrative efficiency and can more easily provide secure, on-demand access to line-of-business applications. That virtualized line-of-business application displayed on a user’s desktop offers instant access to critical information wherever business decisions are being made.
“As a result of our technology collaboration agreement, Citrix maintains a long-term, extremely tight relationship with Microsoft. We continue to work closely on product development and integration across a wide range of products used by thousands of our joint enterprise customers worldwide,” said Scott Herren, group vice president and general manager for Access Management Group for Citrix. “As the most recent example of our efforts, Presentation Server Management Pack for Microsoft Operations Manager helps organizations collect, filter, analyze, respond, and report on information about all their Presentation Server farms — all from a simple view on a single desktop console.”
