Today, Getronics announced the launch of a new Records Management solution designed to enable clients to implement effective policies and procedures for dealing with increasingly tough compliance and governance regulations, whilst also reducing storage, legal discovery and administrative costs. The solution and associated services are the result of a joint effort between Getronics, Microsoft and Meridio designed to offer clients a cost effective staged and structured approach to the full life-cycle of Records Management typically starting with e-messages (e-mail and instant messages). The Records Management solution will be available to clients across EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
The most important characteristics of the offer are its end-to-end holistic packaging of modular consulting services, a phased approach to management of records enterprise-wide and subscription pricing options. These provide clients with the opportunity to embark on a long–term Records Management strategy that delivers early business value and does not require the typical high upfront capital expenditure.
The modular approach provides the opportunity to first implement an e-message management solution that records-enables their Microsoft e-mail and instant message platforms. Getronics is offering the option of a Records Management solution on a subscription basis. After the initial design costs, charges for services are on a per seat, per month basis, extending the standard managed workspace concept. As a service provider, Getronics teams with lawyers, accountants, as well as change managers and archivists to deliver a Records Management program, complementing its own skills in Records Management, systems integration and content production services often acting as the single point of contact to reduce the risk for the customer of managing multiple parties.
Getronics’ Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Global Solution Director Serge Desaranno stated: “New and evolving industry regulations and legislation demand improved ways of managing information making Records Management crucial in almost every organization.
Many companies have invested in a homogeneous Microsoft infrastructure and are looking for easy to use desktop-focused managed solutions that address their compliance and business needs, connect deeper into the enterprise and driving further productivity improvements to offer more rapid ROI”.
Brian Baird, CEO of Meridio, stated “We partnered with Getronics because of the heritage in ECM, the vision for a Microsoft-centric ECM architecture together with their global delivery capability covering the full lifecycle of Records Management services and ensuring that clients profit from the change”.
“The Getronics solution for Records Management shows the value of Microsoft technology and the Microsoft Partner Program in action”, said Sanjay Manchanda, Director of SharePoint Products and Technologies at Microsoft Corp. “Getronics and Meridio have teamed up to create a solution that addresses a key business requirement, using the best of Microsoft's portal, content management and rich client solutions”.
