Seattle/Amersfoort - F5 Networks, leverancier van Application Traffic Management producten, heeft in het vierde kwartaal van het fiscale jaar 2003, dat eindigde op 30 september 2003, een winst van USD 1.4 miljoen (USD 0.05 per aandeel) behaald bij een omzet van USD 31.6 miljoen. In het vorige kwartaal bedroeg de winst USD 1.4 miljoen (USD 0.05 per aandeel) bij een omzet van USD 28 miljoen.
De resultaten overtreffen de verwachtingen (USD 0.02 tot USD 0.03 per aandeel bij een omzet van USD 29.5 tot USD 30.5 miljoen) zoals die door de onderneming bekend werden gemaakt in juli 2003. In het vierde kwartaal van het fiscale jaar 2002 rapporteerde F5 Networks een verlies van USD 423,000 (USD 0.02 per aandeel).
Voor het fiscale jaar 2003 bedroeg de winst USD 4.1 miljoen (USD 0.14 per aandeel) bij een record omzet van USD 115.9 miljoen. In het fiscale jaar 2002 leed F5 Networks nog een verlies van USD 8.6 miljoen (USD 0.34 per aandeel) bij een omzet van USD 108.3 miljoen.
F5 Networks CEO John McAdam zegt in een toelichting dat de groei een resultaat is van de versterkte marktpostie. Daarnaast droegen de eerste verkopen van de recent verworven FirePass SSL VPN producten bij aan het resultaat.
Voor het eerste kwartaal van 2004, dat eindigt op 31 december 2003, verwacht McAdam een verdere toename van de omzet (USD 32 tot 34 miljoen) en de winst (USD 0.06 tot 0.08 per aandeel).
