Amsterdam City Council has agreed to host the Inaugural Reception for the Fifth International Conference on Grey Literature. The theme of this conference is "Grey Matters in the World of Networked Information". The Council hereby acknowledges the importance of this international conference series and the vested interest that it has as producer of government documents and information in print and networked environments.
In December 1993, the City of Amsterdam hosted the Inaugural Reception for the 1st International Conference on Grey Literature in the Amsterdam RAI. Some 200 delegates from around the world were welcomed in this special way. The 2nd and 4th International Conferences in this series were held in Washington D.C. in 1995 and 1999. In 1997, the Commission of the European Communities hosted the 3rd Conference in this series at the Jean Monnet Building in Luxembourg.
GL5, the Fifth International Conference on Grey Literature, will be held at the KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences) Conference Center in Amsterdam on 4-5 December 2003. Already delegates and participants from some 15 countries worldwide will be present. On December 4th 2003, the GL5 Inaugural Reception commences in the Amsterdam City Hall at 17:30 hours.
