Avaya Appoints Lars-Ole Hansen as regional president, Europe, Middle East & Africa
WATERLOO, BELGIUM - Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, has announced the appointment of Lars-Ole Hansen as regional president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is based in Avaya's EMEA headquarters in Waterloo, Belgium and reports to Mike Thurk, group vice president, Enterprise Communications Group (ECG).
Hansen joins Avaya from Airclic where he worked directly with leading telcos, handheld manufacturers and strategic partners across Europe to implement a next-generation platform that supported consumer and enterprise services on mobile information platform technology.
Hansen has held previous international sales and marketing management roles at Hewlett Packard, Digital Equipment and 3Com. He also separated US Robotics' worldwide sales and marketing from 3Com, and was responsible for the establishment and development of the new organisation across Asia Pacific and EMEA.
"We continue to place emphasis on Europe, with significant progress made in the IP Telephony space, as well as leadership in call centre technologies. I am confident that Lars-Ole will be instrumental in driving the business further forward," said Mike Thurk, group vice president ECG, Avaya.
Hansen replaces Patrick Lelorieux, who, after two and a half years in the role, has elected to leave Avaya for another opportunity in the global high-tech industry.
Hansen, a Danish national, is an engineer in electronics and also holds a degree in business economics and organisation from the Danish Trading College.
