CHICAGO, January 9, 2003 -- Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALDN) is offering simple yet strong, two factor-secured access to Novell® eDirectory™ through Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS™) 2.0 and Novell NetWare® using eToken. With eToken, Novell network administrators get bulletproof security and their users get simplified, no hassle access.
''Novell Nsure™ secure identity management solutions allow businesses to get the right resources to the right people, anytime, anywhere, while keeping their systems and data secure,'' said Wendy Steinle, director of marketing for Novell Nsure solutions. ''Aladdin eToken complements Nsure solutions by requiring strong two-factor authentication – assuring customers that only authorized users have access to their critical business resources.''
Aladdin’s eToken is a USB format, Smartcard-based solution that simplifies the login process and maximizes security. eToken provides strong, two-factor authentication to eDirectory in a convenient, easy-to-use USB form. The NMAS client uses certificates and PKI keys stored on the eToken to authenticate users. These certificates are then used by the NMAS server for validating users’ access to the Novell eDirectory resources. eToken also supports the Novell NetWare® architecture enabling logon via the standard Microsoft (Gina) logon, simply by storing the user’s access credentials, password, user name and domain names inside its secure smartcard container. Because users are not forced to remember lengthy, multiple passwords or PIN codes, security and manageability go up and costly password resets go down.
''Novell continues to reinforce its position as a leading provider of secure identity management solutions,'' says Leedor Agam, vice president eToken solutions, Aladdin Knowledge Systems. ''Providing Novell customers with a variety of advanced authentication methods means that protecting their customers’ networks is one of Novell’s highest priorities, as it is ours, and this integration is a very good example of how eToken clearly provides that extra margin of security and value.''
