Sentia Denmark's datacenter acquired by Penta Infra
COPENHAGEN, JUNE 14th, 2021: A PARTNERSHIP IS FORMED BY SENTIA DENMARK AND PENTA INFRA AFTER THE SALE OF SENTIA'S DANISH DATACENTER IN SMEDELAND, GLOSTRUP. THE ACQUISITION FACILITATES SENTIA’S CONTINUED FOCUS ON CLOUD SERVICES, WHILE PENTA INFRA EXPANDS TO THE DANISH MARKET.
Sentia Denmark offers advisory, professional, and managed services to transform, control, and optimize applications and IT landscapes from, to, and in any cloud. Besides operating its own Sentia Cloud, Sentia is premium partner of Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. The datacenter in Smedeland came into the Sentia Group in 2016 through an acquisition and Sentia has since operated the site successfully. Now the time has come to further focus on cloud services and digital experience management. This was the trigger to finding the right partner to own and operate the physical datacenter, while Sentia continues to deliver the cloud services across all its locations in Europe.
Increased focus on core business
Jakob Høholdt, Managing Director of Sentia Denmark, looks forward to the cooperation: "Operating a datacenter is not Sentia's core business. Therefore, we have decided to divest this line of business and forge a partnership with Penta Infra, who has the right capabilities for and focus on running a datacenter. By selling our datacenter, we aim to achieve a synergy that will benefit our customers. We free up resources to do what we do best: Creating good customer experiences and ensuring we have the most optimal solutions now and in the future. We are very happy with this deal and look forward to a close partnership for many years to come."
Sentia has found a partner in Penta Infra, which is a top-tier datacenter provider for the European hub and edge markets. With a vast network of datacenters in the Netherlands and Germany, Penta Infra aims to offer the best locations throughout Europe and is now entering the Danish market. Penta Infra's high level of professionalism and proven track record of quality datacenter operations are among the reasons Sentia has decided to join this strategic partnership.
Anchored in a mutual set of values, particularly in relation to corporate social responsibility and increased focus on sustainability, Penta Infra and Sentia are the perfect fit.
Penta Infra’s first step
The acquisition is only step one in Penta Infra's journey into the Nordics.
Alex Bakker, Partner and Founder at Penta Infra, explains: "We are excited to team up with such a high-quality managed service provider collectively servicing clients across Denmark. We are proud of Sentia's confidence in Penta to run this mission-critical facility. For Penta, this acquisition perfectly fits our strategy in expanding our European service offering to Denmark and adds another site to our existing edge facilities in Germany and the Netherlands. Entering a new market in the Nordics is the next step in Penta’s strategy in the creation of a European datacenter network. We consider Copenhagen as upcoming European hub, from where further expansion in the region will be supported. We will invest in the datacenter in order to meet the increasing market requirements and to anticipate increasing market demand. As an experienced colocation datacenter service provider, we look forward to a successful cooperation with Sentia."
By entering this partnership Sentia and Penta Infra utilize their strengths to ensure that the customers will continue to have a high-quality experience and that each company can focus on what they do best: provide Managed Cloud Services and Datacenter services, respectively.
Sentia and Penta Infra look forward to the cooperation and are committed to a long-term future partnership
