July 9, 2002 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), a global leader in virtual workplace software and services, has announced three new training courses, Securing Application Deployment over the Internet, Citrix® NFuse Classic Administration with Enterprise Services for NFuse and Citrix MetaFrame XP for Windows Advanced Administration, designed to aid Citrix administrators in enhancing secure application deployment and fully utilizing all features and functions of their Citrix products.
Responding to the increased focus on Web security, Citrix has developed Securing Application Deployment over the Internet (CTX-2300), a one-day course designed to educate the Citrix Certified Administrator(tm) (CCA) on Citrix Secure Gateway (CSG), the company's latest security technology. CSG is a new MetaFrame® software component that secures all MetaFrame traffic traveling across the network, whether private or public Internet, via the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. The course gives experienced Citrix MetaFrame XP network and system administrators the necessary tools to identify points of vulnerability and common types of attacks on network security. Upon completion of the course, CCAs will be able to simplify application deployment, provide heightened security with SSL encryption and enable integration with Citrix MetaFrame XP and Citrix NFuse Classic software. In conjunction with the course, Citrix has developed the Citrix Secure Gateway exam #931, which is one of the Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator* (CCEA) exams.
Citrix also has created a course, CTX-7130, to provide Citrix administrators with instruction on the deployment of applications using Citrix NFuse Classic and Enterprise Services for NFuse. Citrix NFuse Classic enables organizations to integrate and publish full-featured applications into any standard browser without any code rewrites. Enterprise Services for NFuse enables application deployment across multiple MetaFrame XP server farms. This two-day course, Citrix NFuse Classic Administration with Enterprise Services for NFuse, will assist in preparing participants for the Citrix NFuse Classic exam #961, one of the CCEA exams.
"NFuse Classic and Enterprise Services for NFuse, as well as Citrix Secure Gateway, allow organizations to leverage existing IT investments to increase security, enable remote access and help ensure business continuity," said Carol Guzzo, director of worldwide education programs for Citrix. "With the introduction of these courses, Citrix provides administrators with the necessary skills to maximize today's core technologies."
The third new course, Citrix MetaFrame XP for Windows Advanced Administration (CTX-1240), provides instruction in designing, planning, testing and deploying enterprise-wide MetaFrame XP server farms. CCAs and MetaFrame XP administrators may take this three-day course in preparation for Exam #991, one of the CCEA exams.
