Citrix® MetaFrame XP™ Feature Release 2 Receives Windows® 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 DataCenter and Windows 2000 Professional Certifications
28 May 2002 - Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), a global leader in virtual workplace software and services, today announced it has been named a Microsoft® Global Gold Certified Partner for Software Products. Citrix achieved this status, the highest level within the Microsoft Certified Partner Programme, based on its commitment to the Microsoft platform, the global adoption of its products and services, and its proven track record for developing robust and reliable application serving software that utilises the latest Microsoft technologies.
The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Programme gives customers a way to identify companies that have proven their commitment and expertise in delivering Microsoft technologies. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners are considered the most skilled providers in specific solution areas and are judged by a higher set of criteria, including enhanced certification levels for products and a portfolio of real-world customer references. As evidence of Citrix’s compliance with these demanding criteria, the latest release of Citrix® MetaFrame® application serving software, Citrix MetaFrame XP™ Feature Release 2, which was launched this month, has been certified for Windows® 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 DataCenter and Windows 2000 Professional, and has received the Designed for Windows XP designation.
Designation as a “Global” Gold Certified Partner signifies that Citrix not only meets the requirements of Microsoft Gold Certification, but also offers its products and services in a large number of geographically distributed countries. Citrix has seven major engineering facilities located in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Australia, as well as sales and marketing offices in more than 25 countries. Close to 40 percent of Citrix employees are based outside of the United States. Citrix’s designated Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Software Product sites include facilities in North America, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Singapore and India.
“Given the number of choices in software products in the market today, customers need to quickly learn who is committed to integration and testing,” said Rosa Garcia, general manager of the Partner Programmes Group at Microsoft. “They need to be assured that a software provider has a policy of platform testing and integration. With commitments to the Microsoft Windows and .NET platforms, Citrix has clearly demonstrated that its software products are robust and credible. Microsoft is pleased to have Citrix as a Global Gold Certified Partner for Software Products.”
“Citrix’s certification in this programme attests to our proven expertise in developing high-quality application serving software products based on Microsoft platforms,” said David Jones, senior vice president, corporate marketing and development, for Citrix. “The benefits provided through our Global Gold status will allow us to continue to enhance our customer offerings and prepare to deliver solutions based on the new Microsoft .NET server line.”
