Amsterdam, 8 januari 2013 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, kondigt de certificering aan van Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1 voor SAP® business applicaties die draaien op Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Dit is een voortzetting van de huidige samenwerking op het gebied van virtualisatie en een uitbreiding van SAP’s certificering van het Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0 platform. Het certificaat is de nieuwste mijlpaal in een 15-jarige alliantie die is opgericht om het gebruik van SAP-applicaties op fysieke Red Hat servers, in gevirtualiseerde omgevingen of in de cloud te vereenvoudigen.
Enterprise klanten zoals TCC Technology Co. Ltd., marktleider op het gebied van commerciële managed hosting en datacenter diensten in Thailand, wenden zich tot Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization om bedrijfscontinuïteit, agility en kostenvoordelen te realiseren voor het gebruik van SAP-applicaties.

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, dat vanaf nu beschikbaar is, is de enige mission-critical end-to-end, open source virtualisatie infrastructuur voor enterprises. Het biedt een open virtualisatie hypervisor met Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) en robuuste management tools gebaseerd op het open source oVirt project. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1 dat wereldwijd beschikbaar is, biedt nieuwe functies en integraties die onder andere schaalbaarheid, netwerken, storage overspannen.
Naast het behalen van goede resultaten in de two-tier SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) standaard applicatie benchmark die in juni1 werd aangekondigd – met Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization en zijn KVM hypervisor waar de SAP ERP 6.0 applicatie op draait – heeft Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization met ingang van 1 december 2012 de zeven hoogste SPECvirt_sc2010 benchmarks bereikt (www.spec.org).
