BT heeft een driejarig contract getekend om het internationale datanetwerk voor Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) te leveren en beheren. Het contract omvat meer dan 230 locaties van SEN in 45 landen.

BT SELECTED BY SIEMENS ENTERPRISE COMMUNICATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL DATA NETWORK
BT has signed a three-year agreement to provide and operate the international data network for Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN). The contract covers more than 230 locations of SEN in 45 countries.
The convergent network solution, which is based on BT’s MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) technology, will enable SEN to handle its data communications on a single platform and to reduce its networking costs by 30 per cent.
The agreement includes Internet connectivity for 10,000 users with BT’s MobileXpress solution enabling employees to access the corporate network while being on the road or at home. The management of firewalls and e-mail services is also included in the scope of services.
Guenther Ernst, chief information officer of SEN, said about the cooperation: “BT has been closely cooperating – as a partner – with Siemens Enterprise Communications for a long time and has comprehensive expertise in providing global managed data services. BT has a rich portfolio for monitoring and controlling its services, which allows SEN to stay in control of the performance of the outsourced services at all times.”
Luis Alvarez, President EMEA & Latin America, BT Global Services, explained: “I am very happy that a major customer like Siemens Enterprise Communications has once more expressed its confidence in us. This contract demonstrates that, in addition to the actual networking services, global companies also value security services and solutions for mobile employees.
