BT heeft een zevenjarige overeenkomst getekend met het Zwitserse Syngenta, een producent van gewasbescherming en zaden voor boeren, tuinders en de gehele agrarische keten. De twee partijen werken al sinds 2001 samen. BT zal een serie van telecom en IT-diensten leveren, waaronder het wide area network (WAN), het lokaal beheerde netwerk, de IP-telefonie infrastructuur en de wereldwijde vaste en mobiele telefonie. Syngenta heeft meer dan 24.000 medewerkers in negentig landen, waaronder Nederland en België. De nieuwe diensten van BT zullen de operationele efficiëntie van Syngenta verbeteren en bijdragen aan snellere anticipatie op interne en externe ontwikkelingen.

BT EXPANDS TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES FOR SYNGENTABT announced today it has signed a seven year agreement with Syngenta, a leading Swiss-based producer of crop protection products and seeds. BT will provide a range of telecommunications and IT services aimed at enhancing Syngenta’s business operational efficiency and agility. The contract builds on BT’s longstanding relationship with Syngenta and covers the refresh of its wide area network (WAN) while providing a managed local network and IP telephony infrastructure coupled with a global fixed and mobile voice service. Syngenta is expecting to realize efficiency gains from this agreement, improvements in service quality and a more flexible basis on which to support global expansion. The company has more than 24,000 employees and operates in over 90 countries around the world.
Hanif Lalani, chief executive officer, BT Global Services, said: “We are delighted that Syngenta has decided to extend our business relationship by another seven years and add several new services. This is yet another clear vote of confidence in BT to deliver on its commitments around the world and a further step to make BT the networked IT services provider of choice.”
