Breda, 6 augustus 2008 - Toshiba Computer Systems Division today launched the Satellite Pro S300-10J, adding to the Satellite Pro range. The 15.4“ laptop is designed to be an affordable high quality mobile computing solution for home workers and small companies whose main concern is reliability and value for money.
“We’re witnessing an increase in the amount of home workers using a laptop. Quocirca1 identified that nearly 40% of small to medium sized businesses are providing and paying for laptops to support employees working from home,” says Jeffrey Willis, General Manager Toshiba Information Systems Benelux. “With this trend in mind, we have developed the Satellite Pro S300-10J for workers needing an affordable and reliable desktop replacement.”
As connectivity is key for home workers and small businesses, the Satellite Pro S300-10J has a range of connectivity options: Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Wireless LAN with 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and an optional embedded 3G HSPA 7.2/2.02 Mbps module. The Satellite Pro S300-10J is equipped with Toshiba’s ConfigFree™ software to provide hassle-free, location-based connectivity for wired and wireless networks.
Business users will benefit from multiple logon possibilities on the Satellite Pro S300-10J: The new laptop includes a fingerprint reader and Wireless Log-on via Bluetooth® for quick and easy access to the system.
It also features Toshiba’s fourth-generation of EasyGuard® technology3 which includes improved shock protection, HDD protection and a spill resistant keyboard. The Sleep-and-Charge USB port enables users to charge their mobile devices, such as mobile phones, MP3 players and PDAs even if the laptop itself is switched off. Additionally, the Satellite Pro S300-10J features an embedded 1.3 Mpx webcam. The new laptop features Toshiba PC Health Monitor software, which monitors several performance elements such as the CPU temperature, fan speed, power consumption and battery health, to track for any PC health issues. The software will then advise the user how to resolve the issue.
The latest addition to the Satellite Pro range comes with an Intel® Core® 2 Duo Processor. It can be upgraded with up to 8 GB of RAM.
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Toshiba ensures that all new laptops are
RoHS-compliant effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. The new Satellite Pro laptop is also
ENERGY STAR® 4.0 qualified.
The Satellite Pro S300-10J will be available in the Netherlands end of August. The retail price will range from
€ 649 excluding VAT.
