Pan-European Logistics and IT Infrastructure in Addition to Central Supply Chain and Leading Sales & Marketing Capabilities Make Tech Data a Master distributor for Xerox
Tech Data and Xerox sign expanded distribution agreement
In 2006 Xerox, one of the world’s leading supplier of printing, copier, and multifunction products, will go through a major change in restructuring its two-tier distribution model and has chosen Tech Data as a master distributor. Tech Data will contribute to the expanded distribution relationship with their exceptional pan-European Logistics and IT Infrastructure in addition to Central Supply Chain and leading Sales & Marketing Capabilities. With Tech Data’s support, Xerox will reach an extended number of resellers and reduce the number of stock- and touch-points by driving further cost-efficiencies and streamlining the entire supply-chain process.
As a Master Distributor for the company, Tech Data will provide Xerox Authorized Concessionaire partners, local distributors and IT resellers with the high levels of stock availability and flexible credit management they need in order to maximize their Xerox sales. Nestor Cano, Tech Data’s President, Worldwide Operations says: “Our sophisticated pan-European infrastructure for IT, Logistics and procurement enables Tech Data to deliver an improved, more cost-efficient and consistent service to Xerox and its European reseller partners throughout Europe.”

Cano adds: “With both vendors and distributors operating on very tight margins, it is vital that we continue to drive further efficiencies, cutting out any duplication of effort and applying the best and most capable resources in the most appropriate way at all times.” The Xerox agreement extends the existing relationship that Tech Data has with the vendor in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. It follows a successful trial conducted between the two firms in France utilizing the same business model, which provides a highly effective sales and marketing support and account management to Xerox partners. That model will now be applied by Tech Data throughout the continent.
