JUNIPER NETWORKS SERVICE DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM COMPLETES CABLELABS® PACKETCABLE(tm) MULTIMEDIA QUALIFICATION SDX Achieves Qualification as PCMM-compliant Policy Server
SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 12th, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) announced today that its SDX-300 Service Deployment System has been awarded qualification status for the PacketCable(tm) Multimedia (PCMM) specification from CableLabs®. PCMM is a CableLabs specification that provides advanced Quality of Service (QoS), accounting and security functionality for multimedia applications, enabling cable multiple system operators (MSOs) to more efficiently support advanced applications such as video on demand, online gaming and IP-based telephony and video communications services.
The Juniper Networks SDX Service Deployment System is a robust, customizable application that enables the rapid creation and deployment of new IP services in a scalable architecture. With the SDX functioning as a PCMM-compliant platform with integrated Application Manager and Policy Server functions, Juniper Networks enables MSOs to offer premium, end-to-end, QoS-based services concurrently across both the DOCSIS and IP networks, increasing the potential for value-added services and driving up revenue per user.
