The Hague, September 9th - AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS IN EUROPE, founded in London in October 1975, is a business networking organisation for Australians working and living in Europe and for Europeans wishing to maintain a connection with Australia. It is an organisation of over 800 individuals across the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and other countries. ABIE is co-ordinated through a Board and Secretariat in London and has five Branch Committees on the Continent.
The main purpose of ABIE is to help Australian companies connect with business opportunities in Europe and to help professionals in the Netherlands connect with job possibilities and business developments in Australia. ABIE works closely with major Australian companies in Europe and with Australian Government Offices. For this purpose, ABIE and its ICT focus group, The Australian Inner Circle hosts a range of events designed to keep members up-to-date with business, political, sports and cultural developments occurring in Australia. It also runs an active social programme to facilitate networking.
Membership consists of Australian and European business people in a variety of industries including banking, ICT, insurance, finance, manufacturing, legal, technology and service industries. Business contacts and information exchange is achieved through a variety of activities and functions in Australian and European locations.
We invite all Australian and Dutch business people to participate as a member of our organisation: an informal networking platform for business people pursuing bilateral interests in Australia and The Netherlands.
