Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Oracle and Network Appliance joined forces
Munich/Germany. June 24, 2003 - On the occasion of the Oracle AppsWorld in London, (June 23 - 26, 2003) Fujitsu Siemens Computers - together with its partners Oracle and Network Appliance - announced the launch of the Oracle Collaboration Suite (OCS) installation in Oracles first Enterprise Technology Center (ETC) in Europe. At the ETC, located in Reading/Great Britain, all three companies demonstrate the reliability, scalability and capabilities of Oracle's entire Collaboration Suite, running on Fujitsu Siemens Computers servers and cluster technology as well as on Network Appliance's storage infrastructure. Future demonstrations will include also Fujitsu Siemens Computers' mobile devices.
What is the Enterprise Technology Center?
With the formation of the ETC, Oracle has introduced the software industry's first facilities dedicated to assisting users with implementing enterprise solutions. The ETC is a state-of-the-art facility, showcasing the company's technologies and business visions by demonstrating the data center of the future.
The ETC showcases technical and market leading products which are tried, tested, supported and field proven ? allowing users to shrink their applications development and implementation times and reduce the risk of failure due to an inadequate technical infrastructure. The configuration is set up in an multi-tiered environment, ideally suited for deploying the Oracle Collaboration suite across a global enterprise: it includes two PRIMEPOWER servers that are used as shared database servers for all data. The Network Appliance Filer units provide enterprise storage and are set up as a shared file system storing all data for the clustered database. The Linux-based PRIMERGY BX300 Blade servers are utilized in the middle-tier.
