Brussels, Belgium and Amersfoort, the Netherlands, May 19, 2003 - Indigo Software, the leading provider of SIP-based communication solutions for IP networks, and F5 Networks, the industry leader in Application Traffic Management, today announced a strenghtening of their sales and marketing relationship. The tightenend relationship comes as a result of the awarding of a huge contract for the building out of a VoIP service network by one of the leading Scandinian service providers. The details of the agreement cannot be disclosed at this point in time.
Under the terms of the agreement, Indigo Software’s flagship product, the Indigo Communications Server & SDKTM, an industry-leading SIP application server, will be at the core of the service provider’s next-generation VoIP network. The Indigo Communications Server provides a broad range of essential routing functions and registration services and performs the execution of a set of advanced multimedia services. F5 Networks will deliver its BIG-IP® products to bring telco-grade high-availability load balancing. This combined solution delivers innovative services, flexibility and unprecedented call routing speed with the same levels of scalability and reliability found in today’s public switched telephone network (PSTN) while running on cost- effective, off-the-shelf server platforms.
According to recent research by the Yankee Group, the hosted IP telephony application servers market is to reach $306 million by the end of 2003 and $1.5 billion (EUR 1.38 billion) by 2007. The research company expects in its new report "Hosted IP Telephony Will Help Providers Reduce Churn and Build Customer Loyalty," providers to begin offering this service in 2003 and aggressively market them beginning in 2004. “We see that demand for IP telephony application servers has risen steeply since the beginning of this year.” said Brian Gray, CEO of Indigo Software. “Service provider customers always require near-faultless operations. We therefore propose F5's BIG-IP® products for call routing load balancing to build increased high availability and scalability into our customers' networks.”
“The fact that F5 is the only Application Traffic Management company that can direct and manage SIP-based traffic is yet another proof point of our market leading innovation and technology leadership," said Warner Nedermeijer, Sales Director Benelux at F5 Networks Benelux. "We're very enthusiastic about the joint solution and excited about our partnership with Indigo Software, who is clearly a leader in SIP-based solutions”.
