Maarssen, 12 May 2003 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced today that it will offer its sales partners PRIMERGY servers bundled with the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server operating system. The bundle is designed to reduce complexity and costs for sales partners, allowing them to offer their customers an end solution more quickly. It also reduces the verification time for the sales partner, as hard- and software are moving closer together also in technological terms. This bundle is in response to requirements from both the channel and end-users. The Linux option applies to all PRIMERGYs, from the entry-level system with one processor right through to the high-end 16-way server. Fujitsu Siemens Computers and SuSE are expecting a considerable hike in demand for the blade servers in particular, as well as for the new tower and rack systems of the TX and RX series.
In addition, as a result of the close working relationship between the two companies, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will be the first company to calculate the maintenance charges for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 according to a server capacity based price system. This leads to financial benefits for end customers, in particular for small servers with one or two processors, which can be run more cost-effectively.

The PRIMERGY servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers are based on Intel architecture featuring the Intel Xeon Processor family. PRIMERGY servers provide benefits to end users through their standardization, and the high levels of reliability, performance and scalability. The product family ranges from the monoprocessor system to the 16-way server, allowing customers to choose what system will best match their environments.
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server combines the stability and security of Linux with lasting system maintenance and support and long-term investment protection for the users.
