Amsterdam, 2 maart 2018 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, breidt zijn samenwerking uit met Azul Systems. De high-density opslagmogelijkheden worden hierdoor aan de in-memory datamanagement-technologie, Red Hat JBoss Data Grid, toegevoegd. De overeenkomst is een voortzetting van een eerdere samenwerking tussen de twee bedrijven en voegt rechten voor Azul Zing toe aan JBoss Data Grid-abonnementen. Klanten kunnen hierdoor beter voldoen aan de snelheids- en volumebehoeften voor hun big data-omgevingen.
De Azul Zing-runtime voor Java is ontworpen om
high performance on-heap storage te ondersteunen waardoor het geschikt is voor JBoss Data Grid-implementaties met grote in-memory data sets. Door Zing aan te bieden bij JBoss Data Grid breidt Red Hat de ondersteuning uit voor het
persistent gebruik van Java-instances die tot acht terabyte aan geheugen kunnen beheren en ontworpen zijn om het aantal vereiste nodes in het cluster te verminderen en de implementatie en het beheer te vereenvoudigen.
Garbage collection pauses kunnen belangrijk zijn in industrieën waarin snelheid, consistente prestaties en uptime belangrijk zijn en het datavolume toeneemt. De Zing C4 Garbage Collector elimineert haperingen bij het uitvoeren van applicaties. Dit probleem komt vaak voor in Java-omgevingen, wat verergerd kan worden door het gebruik van grotere JVM-heaps die nodig zijn voor high performance big data-applicaties. Voor deze applicaties kunnen JBoss Data Grid en Zing consistente prestaties en schaalbaarheid bieden.
Door de overeenkomst is Zing nu beschikbaar als een gratis upgrade-optie voor gebruikers van JBoss Data Grid met ondersteuningscontracten.
