Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9 bouwt voort op Red Hat Enterprise Linux om kritische afhankelijkheden te bieden, die nodig zijn in OpenStack-omgevingen en gericht op service functionaliteit, drivers van derden, systeem prestaties en security. - Geautomatiseerde updates en upgrades met Red Hat OpenStack Platform Director – Red Hat stelt gebruikers in staat hun OpenStack deployments te upgraden via de automatiserings- en validatiemechanismen van de Red Hat OpenStack Platform Director. Deze upgrade tool biedt een eenvoudige manier om te profiteren van de nieuwste OpenStack ontwikkelingen terwijl de downtime voor productieomgevingen wordt voorkomen.
- Live migratie verbeteringen en selecteerbare CPU pinning van OpenStack Compute (Nova) – De Compute component biedt nu een snellere en verbeterde instance van het live migratieproces, en helpt system administrators de voortgang te observeren en zelfs te migratietaak te pauzeren en hervatten. Een nieuwe CPU pinning feature kan het hypervisor gedrag dynamisch veranderen met latency-sensitive workloads zoals NFV.
- Tech Preview van Google Cloud Storage backup driver in OpenStack Block Storage (Cinder) – Als onderdeel van Red Hat’s samenwerking met Google, worden nieuwe disaster recovery policies in Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9 nu uitgebreid naar de publieke cloud door gebruik te maken van geïntegreerde drivers die voor Google Cloud Storage zijn gemaakt. Deze nieuwe functie zorgt voor veiligere backups van belangrijke gegevens in de hybride cloud.
OpenStack beheer
Om de dienstverlening te versnellen en self-service voor system administrators die OpenStack private cloud bouwen mogelijk te maken, verbindt Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9 met Red Hat CloudForms om een consistente, geautomatiseerde cloud deployment omgeving te bieden.
Red Hat CloudForms is inbegrepen bij een Red Hat OpenStack Platform-abonnement en biedt
inherent discovery, monitoring en diepe inspectie van OpenStack middelen.
Bovendien kan Red Hat OpenStack Platform Director ook Red Hat Ceph Storage inzetten, de geïntegreerde software-defined storageoplossing voor Red Hat OpenStack Platform private clouds. Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9 omvat 64TB aan gratis object en block storage voor klanten die een robuuste, scale-out cloud storage-oplossing evalueren.
