Amsterdam, 18 mei 2015 – Red Hat, wereldwijd marktleider op het gebied van opensourcesoftware, introduceert vandaag de Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications, opensourcetechnologie waarmee sneller applicaties ontwikkeld, uitgerold en beheerd kunnen worden.
Bedrijven gebruiken steeds vaker cloud-technologie en kiezen daarbij veelal voor microservice architecturen die in containers draaien. Deze relatief nieuwe architecturen zijn schaalbaar, mobiel en efficiënt. Microservice architecturen zijn echter niet zaligmakend. Ze hebben een bijzonder schaalbare infrastructuur nodig, alleen dan kan het potentieel van deze technologie volwaardig worden benut. Bovendien hebben veel organisaties een groot aantal workloads, die nog niet geschikt zijn voor microservices of een containerarchitectuur. Bedrijven zijn daarom op zoek naar een oplossing die zowel applicaties ondersteunt, die op virtuele machines kan draaien en tegelijkertijd ook nieuwe op containertechnologie draaiende applicaties kan ondersteunen. Ontwikkelaars kunnen bijvoorbeeld behoefte hebben aan storage-diensten die nodig zijn voor statische applicatieontwikkeling en tegelijk een nieuwe dienst willen servicen op basis van containertechnologie. Door beide typen workloads op één platform te laten draaien kan men de efficiëntie verbeteren.
Klanten zijn steeds vaker op zoek naar een complete opensourceoplossing die een schaalbare infrastructuur biedt, de productiviteit van ontwikkelaars vergroot en ondersteund wordt door een groot aantal gecertificeerde hardware- en softwareleveranciers. Red Hat’s Cloud Suite for Applications speelt in op deze uitdagingen door een schaalbare IaaS te combineren met een PaaS voor de snellere levering van applicaties. De diensten hebben daarbij een beheerplatform die beide cloud-diensten aanstuurt en hybride uitrolmodellen ondersteunt. Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications is de eerste volledig geïntegreerde open source IaaS- en PaaS-oplossing in de markt. De oplossing stelt klanten in staat cloud-silo’s te vermijden en geeft ze een keuze in welke service model ze voor hun organisatie willen gebruiken, zodat er optimaal omgegaan kan worden met veranderende eisen.
Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications is een combinatie van Red Hat’s prijswinnende PaaS, IaaS en de hybride cloud management-oplossing – respectievelijk OpenShift van Red Hat, het Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform en Red Hat CloudForms. Met naadloos beheer van zowel OpenShift als OpenStack met Red Hat CloudForms kunnen systeembeheerders vanuit één console hun PaaS en IaaS effectiever beheren.
Door OpenShift te integreren met OpenStack kunnen gebruikers niet alleen sneller applicaties ontwikkelen, uitrollen en beheren. Ze hebben ook toegang tot een volwaardige middleware-suite en mobiele diensten. Bovendien ondersteunt Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications een grote variëteit aan gecertificeerde hardware, servers en plugins van derden. Hierdoor hebben gebruikers keuze uit een breed aanbod voor hun cloud-stack.
Beschikbaarheid
Red Hat’s Applicatie Cloud Suite is beschikbaar via een Early Access Program. Op een latere datum zal de Red Hat Applicatie Cloud Suite algemeen beschikbaar zijn.
