Amsterdam, 6 november 2014 --- Wipro Ltd. (NYSE:WIT), een wereldwijde speler op het gebied van informatietechnologie, consultancydiensten en bedrijfsprocessen, en Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, kondigen de wereldwijde uitbreiding van hun samenwerking aan. Ze zullen samen cloud-oplossingen ontwikkelen en leveren, en zich richten op de volgende generatie DevOps-oplossingen.
De samenwerking tussen Wipro en Red Hat startte in 2006 toen Wipro een Red Hat Ready Business Partner werd en zich richtte op de klantadoptie en implementatie van Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In 2010 breidden Wipro en Red Hat de samenwerking uit, en werd Wipro benoemd tot Red Hat Premier Partner. Als onderdeel van de meest recente uitbreiding wordt Wipro een Premier, Global Systems Integrator voor Red Hat. Hierdoor bevat Wipro’s open source infrastructure solution stack nu Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat CloudForms, Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform en OpenShift.
Om de wereldwijde adoptie van OpenStack en Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) te ondersteunen werken Red Hat en Wipro tevens samen om bestaande enterprise en telecommunicatie klanten oplossingen voor private, publieke en hybride clouds te bieden. Na beide een eerste afzonderlijke testronde te hebben gedaan, combineren de bedrijven nu hun inspanningen en kennis rondom de configuratie, implementatie en het beheer van OpenStack private clouds. Bovendien introduceerde Wipro een demo-ready Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform-omgeving in zijn Center of Excellence op de Bangalore campus.
Wipro Open Source Practice zal een gezamenlijke go-to-market- en cloud-strategie voor zijn klanten ontwerpen. Hierbij ontvangt Wipro een technische training en de accreditatie voor open source via het Red Hat Online Partner Enablement (OPEN) programma. Zo kan het bedrijf de implementatie voltooien van Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, Red Hat CloudForms en OpenShift in zijn Open Source Center of Excellence (CoE). Dit zorgt ervoor dat de Wipro-partners die het programma succesvol afronden zich kwalificeren als erkende sales-specialisten, sales engineer-specialisten en services delivery-specialisten voor zowel IaaS als PaaS.
Bovendien is Red Hat van plan om samen met Wipro te werken aan het uitbreiden van het Wipro-portfolio met service virtualisatie, release automation/continue levering en continue validatie. Deze geïntegreerde OpenShift-oplossingen zullen worden ontworpen om klanten te helpen bij de optimalisatie van hun applicatie ontwikkeling en leveringsprocessen. Terwijl de DevOps-oplossingen die gebruik maken van OpenShift door de klanten als standalone oplossing kunnen worden gebruikt, kan de DevOps orchestrator – welke gebouwd zal worden door Wipro – geïntegreerd worden met de laaS-laag. Dit zal de automatisering en de portabiliteit van de applicatie, variërend van on-premise, private cloud datacenters tot de publieke cloud, mogelijk maken.
