Singapore, 21 May 2002 - CMG today announced that it has successfully secured a deal with Globe Telecom, the Philippines' fastest growing telecommunications company, to increase its total Short Messaging Services Centre (SMSC) capacity to 6,000 messages per second. The deal is valued at EUR8.5 million.
Globe Telecom has worked closely with CMG's Wireless Data Solutions' division since early 1999. Globe last upgraded CMG's SMSC in March 2001, when the capacity was expanded to 3,500 messages per second. Globe Telecom's SMS traffic has nearly doubled since that time, bringing the capable throughput to a maximum of 6,000 messages per second.
