Amsterdam, 7 april 2014 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, benoemt softwareleverancier Software AG tot Red Hat Advanced ISV Partner voor Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Met de benoeming wordt de al bestaande samenwerking tussen de twee bedrijven uitgebreid op het gebied van softwareontwikkeling en ondersteunende activiteiten.
Bedrijven worden geconfronteerd met een toenemende druk om kosten te besparen, krimpende IT-budgetten te beheren en verouderde legacy-systemen te upgraden. Dit terwijl alternatieven voor prioritaire technologieën, die op open standaarden zijn gebaseerd steeds belangrijker worden. Software AG profiteert dankzij de uitgebreide samenwerking van de vraag naar opensourcetechnologieën en biedt optimale integratie met de Red Hat-oplossingen, inclusief Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Software AG gebruikt het besturingssysteem van Red Hat al voor softwareontwikkeling en biedt compatibiliteit voor haar oplossingen die op een Linux-platform zijn gebaseerd.
Via het Advanced ISV Partner programma heeft Software AG ook toegang tot Red Hat’s technische middelen, waardoor het bedrijf op efficiënte wijze zijn eigen oplossingen met Red Hat Enterprise Linux kan bundelen, voornamelijk voor x86 servers en het IBM System z mainframe. Dit vereenvoudigt en versnelt upgrades naar een nieuwe versie, evenals de ontwikkeling van nieuwe product releases. Daarnaast biedt het Software AG-klanten hogere applicatieprestaties en beschikbaarheid terwijl de TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) wordt verlaagd.
