Amersfoort, 19 oktober 2011 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, en
Virtustream Inc., een toonaangevende leverancier van cloud softwareoplossingen en -diensten, kondigen vandaag aan dat Virtustream is toegetreden tot Red Hat’s cloud ecosysteem als een Premier Certified Cloud Provider. Virtustream voegt Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization support toe aan zijn xStream cloudplatform en biedt klanten nu Red Hat Enterprise Linux on-demand. Virtustream kan zijn klanten nu een meer schaalbare en flexibele cloudinfrastructuur bieden via betere ondersteuning in een uniforme privé en multi-tenanted enterprise cloud. Red Hat-klanten kunnen nu bovendien eenvoudig op xStream deployen.
Dankzij het xStream-platform van Virtustream kunnen bedrijven gebruikmaken van de beste software en hardware, die nu ook virtuele servers, storage, netwerken, clients, applicaties en middleware omvatten op basis van de Red Hat Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) hypervisor. Het prijsmodel van Virtustream op basis van verbruik, verzamelt eisen van workloads die draaien in de cloud en wijst dynamisch de resources toe aan diegene met de grootste vraag om zo de besturingsomgeving te optimaliseren en in balans te brengen. Door het creëren van SLA-gebaseerde resource pools in virtuele computing containers, genaamd Infrastructure Units, kan Virtustream garantie bieden ten aanzien van CPU, geheugen, netwerk en storage I/O resources.
Virtustream zal, als Red Hat Premier Certified Cloud Provider, nu Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization bieden op xStream en cloudomgevingen leveren die draaien op het xStream-platform, een van de meeste schaalbare en veilige virtualisatie-infrastructuren die speciaal ontworpen is voor multi-tenant omgevingen. Daarnaast biedt Virtustream Red Hat Enterprise Linux als een gast-besturingssysteem. Hierdoor kunnen enterprises snel en makkelijk Red Hat Enterprise Linux afbeeldingen op aanvraag ontvangen.
