Red Hat Summit en JBoss World, Boston, 3 mei 2011 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, kondigt vandaag aan dat de registratie mogelijk is voor het early access program voor JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6. Dit platform zal vanaf begin volgend jaar algemeen beschikbaar zijn. JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 weerspiegelt de inspanningen van Red Hat om de adoptie van Java Enterprise Edition (EE) 6 technologieën te faciliteren, om een Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)-ready platform mogelijk te maken en om het beheer van applicatieservers te vereenvoudigen ongeacht waar ze worden ingezet.

Over JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6
De belangrijke doelstellingen van JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 zijn gebaseerd op de volgende factoren:
- Implementeren van Java EE 6-technologieën – Java EE 6 is een belangrijke stap in het flexibeler en meer agile maken van Java-ontwikkelingen. JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 en de ondersteunende opensourceprojecten weerspiegelen deze uitgebreide mogelijkheden. Red Hat leidde de ontwikkeling van belangrijke nieuwe features in Java EE 6, waaronder Contexts & Dependency Injection (CDI), waardoor Java EE een veel flexibeler framework voor ontwikkelaars is.
- Een PaaS-ready platform mogelijk maken en flexibele on-premise deployment – JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 is ontworpen om ingezet te worden binnen PaaS-omgevingen. Met zijn nieuwe architectuur, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6, wordt het makkelijker dan ooit tevoren om de grootte van de applicatieserver aan te passen aan de workload, ongeacht of dit een fysieke, virtuele of cloud deployment betreft.
- Verbeterde beheermogelijkheden – Voor zijn nieuwe generatie platform zet Red Hat grote stappen in het voorzien van een lichtgewicht maar goed presterend Java EE platform met betrouwbare beheermogelijkheden. JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 introduceert veel nieuwe mogelijkheden, zoals een krachtig task-based management framework dat is ontworpen om een basis te bieden voor grootschalige automatisering van publieke en privé-cloud implementaties, en om het geheugenverbruik significant te reduceren.
Leiderschap in Java
JBoss Enterprise Application Platform vertegenwoordigt de inspanningen van Red Hat als belangrijke Java-speler. Red Hat heeft ervoor gezorgd Java relevanter te maken en Java EE te helpen te evolueren van een monolitisch platform naar een productief, lichtgewicht en modulaire applicatie voor de cloud en implementatie op locatie. Naast de rol in het Java Community Process (JCP) Executive Committee, is Red Hat een Java Specification Leader of Expert Working Group lid voor meer dan 35 belangrijke Java Specification Requests (JSR's).
In april ondersteunde Red Hat zijn visie met betrekking tot de evolutie van Java door drie nieuwe specifications-voorstellen in te dienen en door samen te werken aan ten minste vier andere specifications voor de komende Java EE7 specification (JSR 342). Sommige van deze innovaties zijn reeds ontworpen in JBoss Community-projecten en zullen naar verwachting worden opgenomen in toekomstige JBoss-producten.

In de aanloop naar de wereldwijde lancering van JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6, wil Red Hat enterprises voorzien van meerdere mogelijkheden om eerder toegang te krijgen tot de nieuwe versie.
