Amersfoort, 20 mei 2010 – Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, kondigt vandaag aan dat een toenemend aantal Independent Software Vendors (ISV’s) hun applicaties heeft gecertificeerd op het JBoss Enterprise Middleware platform. Sinds de lancering van het JBoss Certified ISV Program eind 2008 zag Red Hat het aantal gecertificeerde ISV-applicaties stijgen tot boven de 500. Deze toename in gecertificeerde applicaties van Red Hat’s groeiende ISV-community onderschrijft de interesse van klanten in enterprise-class open source middleware.
‘We zien een groeiend aantal klanten die willen profiteren van het prijs- en prestatievoordeel van enterprise open source middleware. Ze verlangen dat de leveranciers van applicaties hun software certificeren op basis van Red Hat’s JBoss Enterprise Middleware,’ aldus Gertjan Vaessen, SI Sales Manager Benelux bij Red Hat. ‘Wij zien dan ook dat de groei van ons ISV-programma de verschuiving weerspiegelt van complexe en dure proprietary platforms naar toonaangevende open source middleware aanbieders, zoals JBoss.’
De huidige expansie van ISV vindt plaats op mondiale schaal. Meer dan 50 procent van de ISV’s die certificeren op JBoss Enterprise Middleware is gevestigd in Europa en Azië. Verschillende soorten applicatieleveranciers omarmen open source middleware, waaronder technologie ISV’s die hun product integreren met JBoss Enterprise Middleware platforms als onderdeel van een complete productoplossing. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn: database, content management, BI tools, SOA governance en SSO. Daarnaast neemt ook het aantal applicatie ISV’s toe die draaien op JBoss Enterprise Middleware platforms en deze herdistribueren als onderdeel van hun commercieel product.
Voorbeelden van JBoss Enterpise Middleware ISV partners zijn: Actuate, Adobe, ADP, Art Technology Group, Avaya, BMC Software, CA, EMC, EnterpriseDB, eXo, GTECH, HP, Ingres, Jaspersoft, Kronos, McKesson, SAS, SOA Software en Sybase.
Sinds de lancering eind 2008 van het JBoss Certified ISV Program heeft Red Hat zijn JBoss Enterprise Middleware portfolio verbeterd door het upgraden van zijn JBoss Enterprise Application Platform en JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform. Met de introductie van het JBoss Open Choice programma introduceerde Red Hat ook JBoss Enterprise Web Server en JBoss Enterprise Web Platform. ISV’s kunnen nu applicaties aanbieden binnen een reeks van JBoss Enterprise Middleware platforms.
‘Dankzij de vereende krachten van het HP Service Delivery Platform product en Red Hat open source middleware kunnen klanten in de telecomindustrie hun kosten verlagen en flexibiliteit verhogen,’ aldus Joe Dyoub, product manager, Service Delivery Platform, Communications en Media Solutions bij HP. ‘Engineers van HP en Red Hat werken samen aan het JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform om onze SDP klantendatabase sneller en kosteneffectiever diensten te leveren.
Klanten beschikken over steeds meer mogelijkheden om Red Hat’s groeiende ISV catalogus te gebruiken. Dit komt doordat meer en meer van de veelgebruikte applicaties gecertificeerd worden zodat ze JBoss Enterprise Middleware ondersteunen. Open source middleware biedt verbeterde prestaties en kostenbesparingen op een standaard platform dat eenvoudig in gebruik is en makkelijk te installeren.
