Amersfoort, 19 maart 2010 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, maakt vandaag bekend dat IBM heeft gekozen voor Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization als platform voor zijn nieuwe cloud computing dienst.
‘Onze jarenlange samenwerking met Red Hat richtte zich altijd op het belang van klanten en op innovatie. Vandaag breiden we deze samenwerking uit naar cloud computing – waarmee we ons bereik vergroten en tegelijkertijd inspelen op de toegenomen vraag naar cloud computing diensten,’ zegt Maria Azua, vice president Cloud Computing Enablement bij IBM. ‘Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is de optimale hypervisortechnologie voor het infrastructuuraanbod van de IBM Cloud.’
In februari 2009 annonceerde Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization zijn plannen omtrent Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. In november 2009 kwam Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization voor servers op de markt. Klanten konden zodoende kiezen voor een nieuwe, kosteneffectieve oplossing in de virtualisatiemarkt met een rijk aanbod van functionaliteiten. Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization biedt een aantal van de nieuwste technologieën. Dat maakt de adoptie van virtualisatie en open cloud computing infrastructuren door enterprises mogelijk.
