SAES verkiezingstechniek van Smartmatic blijkt het meest betrouwbaar

Smartmatic, a leading supplier of technological solutions throughout the globe, announces that its Auditable Election System (SAES) worked with complete accuracy and reliability during the Regional Elections held in Venezuela on November 23.

It is the seventh time in which Smartmatic deploys its electoral solution in this Latin American country It successfully registered, tallied and transmitted the electoral results that were immediately endorsed by the National Electoral Council, the different political parties and all national and international observers.

11,053,022 Venezuelans went to their polling centers to choose 22 governors, 326 mayors, 2 metropolitan mayors, 233 legislators to the state legislative councils and 13 metropolitan councilmen. One of the most important characteristics of this election was its difficulty due to the great amount of posts (603) and the large number of running candidates (8,294). However, thanks to Smartmatic's automated auditable system, electoral authorities were able to announce the first report with official results (96% of votes tallied) in less than 3 hours after polling station closure.

After polling stations were closed, the CNE along with political witnesses, audited the results and proved the perfect accuracy of the system. Data transmission of results from the automated polling centers to the Municipal Juntas, took about a minute and tallying was carried out almost immediately after data was received. Every group involved in the electoral process endorsed the results and reliability in the voting machines and back-end systems.
