Waardenburg, The Netherlands - February 22 2008
NetSourcing, a prominent Application Hosting Provider in the Netherlands, today announced that the company has selected Microsoft Connected Services Framework and Porthus, a leading OnDemand provider of IT solutions, to extend its offerings to include additional value-added services.
NetSourcing is one of the first hosting providers to implement Connected Services Framework in the Benelux market. The solution allows NetSourcing to respond to the trend towards delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) to meet the changing business requirements of small and medium sized businesses.
Connected Services Framework is Microsoft’s service enablement platform that is aimed at simplifying the creation, integration and deployment of value added services. This platform, implemented worldwide by over 30 communications companies, enables significant reduction of development time and cost of launching new services through standardization on an open standards-based, web services architecture.
The solution provides the foundation for delivering a variety of services and applications, including Microsoft’s own value-added services such as Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration and Hosted CRM as well as third-party applications from SaaS and ISV providers. Also, it allows for the aggregation of multiple services to create innovative, new, combined services which help service providers to differentiate themselves from the competition. In addition, Connected Services Framework connects to service providers’ typical back-office systems such as provisioning, order handling and billing which simplifies the integration of new service offerings.
NetSourcing, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, needed the ability to deliver their services, based on multiple applications, to many telecom providers and to many operational systems. With Connected Services Framework, NetSourcing is able to create composite XML services and then provide and manage those services for its customers across multiple networks. It also supports the management of different applications that work together to create, manipulate, share, and distribute digital content. NetSourcing provides more than 100 applications for for example Healthcare Organisations varying from Hosted Exchange and Microsoft Office to applications for planning, budgeting and Human Resources.
“In such a competitive marketplace, the ability to quickly develop and roll-out new services is essential to stay ahead of the competition and respond to changing customer needs. In choosing Connected Services Framework to be the heart of its service delivery strategy, NetSourcing is taking positive action to progress its software as a service strategy,” said Michael O’Hara, general manager, Communications Sector, Microsoft. “By offering customers new types of services, NetSourcing is able to augment its business and deliver exciting new opportunities to its customers.”
As the majority of applications offered are based on the Windows platform the choice of Connected Services Framework offers integration with a variety of operational support systems and business support systems. ‘The integration is the platform to be prepared for the future’, said Yvo Hoeke, CEO of NetSourcing. ‘This will make the difference for application hosting providers to deliver specific content’.
NetSourcing selected Porthus to implement Microsoft Connected Services Framework. Porthus is a leading OnDemand IT solutions provider, enabling organizations to manage complex, electronic processes with a variety of business partners. Porthus recently launched its Service Logic Framework within Connected Services Framework. The product reduces elaborate customization and makes sure that the implementation of the overall solution can be deployed within challenging timelines.
The Service Logic Framework is part of Porthus’s OnDemand Media & Communications suite. Porthus’s Media & Communications suite is focused on integrating and automating flows and processes and will respond to the increasing demand for high performance media digitalization and communication convergence solutions.
