Amersfoort/Gent, 6 juni 2006 – Lawson, leverancier van bedrijfssoftware voor de midmarket, heeft Jaap van den Akker benoemd tot country manager Benelux. Van den Akker werkte sinds 2001 voor Intentia Benelux. Hij begon daar als business consultant en is sinds 2002 als services manager verantwoordelijk voor de afdeling die implementatieprojecten bij klanten begeleidt. Eerder deze maand fuseerde het Amerikaanse Lawson Software met Intentia International.
Van den Akker: “Lawson onderscheidt zich door zijn kennis van en sterke focus op bedrijfsprocessen van middelgrote bedrijven in de sectoren food, mode, logistiek, onderhoud en dienstverlening. Ik was als services manager al het aanspreekpunt voor alle business consultants en weet wat er bij onze klanten speelt. Vandaar mijn benoeming.”
De integratie van Lawson en Intentia heeft in de Benelux niet zoveel impact. “Voor de klanten blijft alles hetzelfde. De focus voor Lawson Benelux blijft de verkoop en implementatie van de Lawson M3-productsuite (voorheen Movex) voor de make, move en maintain markt. Daarnaast zullen wij de retail-, HRM- en Enterprise Performance Management-software van Lawson’s S3-productsuite gaan aanbieden, waarbij de S staat voor serve, source en staff.” Beide productlijnen worden echter niet geïntegreerd en blijven naast elkaar bestaan, gebruik makend van een zelfde onderliggende technologie. “De gevolgen van de fusie zijn voor onze klanten louter positief. Hun bestaande investeringen blijven behouden en de garantie tot continuïteit is alleen maar groter geworden met een financieel stabiele en internationale partner,” aldus van den Akker.
