Hurst, Uk, 29 mei 2006 – Tumbleweed, leverancier van security-oplossingen voor e-mailbeveiliging, file transfers en identity validation, is positief beoordeeld in het Gartner MarketScope E-mail Encryptie-rapport. In dit rapport zijn zeven bedrijven onderzocht en beoordeeld op ondermeer ervaringen van gebruikers, marktkennis en productstrategie. Deze positieve score staat voor een advies van Gartner aan huidige klanten om te blijven investeren in Tumbleweed-producten en aan potentiële nieuwe klanten om Tumbleweed op hun shortlist te zetten.
Volgens Gartner staat de markt voor e-mail encryptie nog in de kinderschoenen. Aanbieders van beveiligingsproducten hebben allemaal hun eigen sterkten en zwaktes. In het door Gartner onderzochte specifieke onderdeel, de gateway-encryptiemarkt, is desktopsofware voor zenders en ontvangers overbodig. Gartner schat deze markt op 40 tot 50 miljoen dollar en voorziet dat deze markt blijft groeien.
