Designed for high-performance enterprise and service provider networks that require rich QoS, hardware resiliency and greater media flexibility, the 9924TS is the most flexible small form factor Layer 3 Gigabit switch solution on the market today.
The AT-9924TS is a modular 1RU switch with 24 fixed 10/100/1000T ports and two 20Gbps capacity expansion bays that currently support SFP, 10/100/1000T or 10GbE XFP modules. This modular design enables network operators to deploy a single switch solution in multiple configurations throughout the network and to add further performance capability to installed switches when required. Front-to-back cooling and support for Jumbo frames also make the AT-9924TS the ideal platform for data center server applications and high-performance IP SANs using iSCSI technology.

The AT-9924TS joins two other models in the 9900 switch series. The AT-9924T is a 24-port 10/100/1000T switch with four additional SFP ports. The AT-9924SP a 24-port all SFP Gigabit platform for optimum port flexibility in mixed cabling environments. All 9900 series switches offer an enhanced feature set and available hardware redundancy at an industry-leading value point.
The QoS feature set of the 9900 series is unsurpassed, with support for all the key standards including TOS, and DSCP, queue shaping with RED or simple tail drop, weighted round robin and strict priority scheduling. Additional and exclusive per-flow QoS mechanisms offer application and service specific metering mechanisms.
The 9900 series is particularly well suited to networks with a planned a migration from IPv4 to IPv6. All 9900 series switches are IPv6 capable out-of-the-box. Spurred on by the hot IPv6 network market in Europe and Japan, the 9900s are among the first non-chassis switches available that provide hardware-based IPv6.
The IPv6 support capabilities of the 9900 series perform equally well with IPv4. Layer 3 capabilities including RIP (Routing Information Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) and DVMRP (Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol). The units also support VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to synchronize routing tables of multiple devices. BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is also supported.
