Oracle’s strategie om innovatieve software gebaseerd op open standaarden te leveren is erg succesvol en de kwaliteit van informatie tegen een aantrekkelijke prijs wordt breed gewaardeerd in diverse sectoren.
In Nederland kon Oracle voor de applications-tak onder andere financiële dienstverleners ABM AMRO, Aegon en Robeco optekenen.

Oracle Europe, Middle East & Africa Extends Customer Base
Customers in the region endorse Oracle’s offerings, as they seek innovative, open-standards software and better quality information at lower costs
Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) today reported notable key customer wins within the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, during the second quarter of fiscal year 2006. Customers are endorsing Oracle’s strategy to offer innovative, open-standards software, providing better quality information at affordable prices.
“Our strategy for our customers has always been less complexity, less customisation and lower costs,” said Sergio Giacoletto, Executive Vice President, Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Customers across many industry sectors in the region continue to choose Oracle to integrate and automate business processes at a reduced total cost of ownership. Quite simply, with our product offerings we’re giving our customers what they want.”
Applications
Oracle’s portfolio of enterprise applications, which includes the OracleÒ E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World, is offered as a fully integrated suite or available on a component basis, and provides enterprise information that enables companies to manage their business cycles and provide intelligence in functional areas such as financials, human resources, maintenance management, manufacturing, marketing, order fulfilment, product lifecycle management, procurement, projects, sales, services and supply chain planning. Customers who have selected Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise applications over the last few months include ABN AMRO (Netherlands), Aegon (Netherlands), Higher Education Combi-deal User Productivity Kit for PeopleSoft (Netherlands), Robeco (Netherlands), University of Antwerp (Belgium), La Caixa (Spain), Seur Geopost (Spain), Udad.St Pablo CEU (Spain). Customers who have selected Oracle’s JD Edwards products over the last few months include Al Tayer Group (Gulf State), D&D (Hungary), Elektro Profi (Hungary), Tigép (Hungary), F.M AlQahtani & Sons (Saudi Arabia).
In the retail industry, Oracle is equipping retailers with solutions that help them gain deeper insight into their operations so they can plan and manage their operations better, transforming their economics and enabling them to deal with fiercely competitive environments that change in real time. Oracle Retail solutions have enjoyed solid uptake in EMEA across all retail sectors, especially in those handling seasonal and promotional products around hard lines, soft lines and food products. Customer wins in Q2 include Carrefour (France), WH Smith (UK), Apteki 36’3 (CIS), John Lewis (UK) and Eram (France).
Banking is a strategic industry for Oracle with 9 of the top 10 banks globally already running Oracle applications. Oracle has delivered solutions to financial institutions across the region, from central banks in the heart of Africa to large banks in the heart of London. In EMEA, there has been good uptake of Oracle banking solutions in the governance and corporate performance management area across all relevant industry segments - banking, insurance, financial markets.
Technology
In EMEA, sales of Oracle's comprehensive platform for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Oracle Fusion Middleware, have made significant contributions to revenues this quarter. In particular, many customers are investing in the key components of Identity and Access Management, and using them as the first step in the foundation for a SOA approach. The strength of Oracle’s technology gives customers an unprecedented ability to build identity into their software infrastructure. Oracle’s unrivalled security offering clearly positions Oracle as a leader in this space and is helping to win new customers in the region who want the leading identity management solution for their businesses
Real-time data that delivers true business intelligence enables companies to make faster, smarter decisions. Oracle's robust enterprise database software, integrated middleware solutions and worldwide support infrastructure delivers a more complete and versatile data management solution. In the EMEA region, there has been good interest in, and adoption of, Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database, with sales in the telecommunications, media and financial services industry sectors.
