DSM, the global manufacturer of life science products, performance materials and industrial chemicals, has once again chosen Getronics as its strategic partner for the management of PC seats and local ICT infrastructures in Europe and Asia-Pacific. In addition, Getronics’ services will also be required in North and South America. Since 2002, Getronics has ensured that DSM’s worldwide standardised PC and server environment stays up-to-date and operational.
DSM’s one year contract with Getronics will run from 1 January 2005 and has an initial value of about EUR 13 million. The contract encompasses almost forty countries, including the US, Canada, Belgium, Italy, France, Hungary, Spain, South Africa, Singapore, India, Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, Argentina and Chile.
Jo van den Hanenberg, DSM’s Chief Information Officer: “In 2000 and 2001, we standardised PCs and laptops worldwide as part of the so-called ‘Aurora’ project. Subsequently, the accompanying provision of the associated services underwent a sweeping, worldwide standardisation. This resulted in a structural decrease in ICT costs. By extending and expanding the service contract signed with Getronics in 2002, DSM continues, together with its partner, along this path of improvements and cost reductions.”
