Milan, 17th May 2004 – Finmatica, the main Italian applications software manufacturer in the Finance, SCM, Logistics and Security sector, announces that Lamborghini will be making use of FINeCHAIN, its Supply Chain Management solution, in order to manage and optimize service parts distribution for its cars on an international scale. Thanks to the skills developed by Finmatica in the car market, Lamborghini will be able to fulfil its efficiency and flexibility requirements when managing its service parts distribution by means of the FINeCHAIN solution, implemented in partnership with the PRO Group, a Bolognese software house that has been Lamborghini’s reference software partner for years.
Since it became part of the Volkswagen Group, Lamborghini has completely renewed its car range, increasing annual production from around 200 to 1305 units in 2003 and its turnover from 40 to 200 million Euros. The Italian company, which expects to manufacture 1900 vehicles in 2004 and caters for a large market in the United States, has chosen to use FINeCHAIN in order to play a strategic role in efficiently managing the processes linked to production growth.
“We have chosen FINeCHAIN because we believe that it can fully satisfy our requirements in a sector such as service parts distribution, which is fundamental to our business,” stated Giuseppe Greco, Vice President and Managing Director of Automobile Lamborghini Spa. “Finmatica boasts substantial experience in the car market and can offer us specific skills in order to improve our efficiency and productivity.”
“We are very proud that such a prestigious company as Lamborghini has chosen FINeCHAIN to optimize its service parts distribution and to increase the efficiency of its customer services,” stated René Desvignes, Lob Manager SCM for Finmatica. “FINeCHAIN is an innovative, modular solution that was developed in order to meet the requirements of specific vertical markets such as the service parts market: this suite enables indeed to manage the warehouse efficiently, to reduce costs and to reach high standards of service.”
The PRO Group, an Italian company that has been operating in the Information Technology sector for twenty years, will implement Finmatica’s solution at Lamborghini. Thanks to its consultancy and delivery resources, the PRO Group professionals, alongside Finmatica consultants will support the Volkswagen Group’ s company so that it can take full advantage of the benefits offered by FINeCHAIN in terms of flexibility and efficiency.
Lamborghini’s renewal of its car range has led to greater production and, consequently, an increase in requests for service parts, some of which are very expensive and take a long time to manufacture. In order to meet the speed and efficiency requirements of this company based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Finmatica has provided the vertical FINeCHAIN modules developed for demand forecasting, distribution & requirement planning and strategic inventory management in the specific Service Parts market.
