Mobeon and Fujitsu Siemens Computers have teamed up to deliver carrier-grade IP-based voicemail to telecoms operators and service providers. The cooperation provides the market with a highly flexible, customisable solution.
Customers will benefit from the combination of Mobeon's voicemail application and Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Solaris/SPARC-based PRIMEPOWER servers and high-availability middleware products. (PRIMECLUSTER product suite and Resilient Telco Platform4 = RTP4 Continuous Services).
The highly scalable and reliable solution will mean telecom operators have access to a cost-effective messaging system, allowing them to focus on launching new revenue generating offerings in line with their growth areas.
The pre-integrated 'IP Message Manager' offers extreme flexibility to the operator with powerful customisation tools and flexible deployment options. The continued optimisation enables Mobeon and Fujitsu Siemens Computers to provide maximum flexibility, carrier-class reliability, a rich set of services plus the added benefit of an industry-leading price-per-mailbox. With stable systems integration using standard network protocols, the solutions can be implemented in a myriad of different configurations without affecting the core reliability and availability.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' experience in Business Critical Computing environments guarantees the optimum IT-infrastructure for Mobeon¹s IP Message Manager, delivering highest levels of performance, availability, security and manageability.
In addition to collaborating on joint selling activities, the two companies will also dedicate resources to jointly develop, market and sell combined offerings to customers in the telecom industry.
"IP Message Manager creates the platform to expand services and give customers access anytime, anywhere through any device to a single message store of voice, email, fax, video and future picture and multimedia content," said Bernd Kosch, vice-president alliances and partnerships at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Our partnership with Mobeon gives operators the opportunity to move customers from legacy systems to unified, next-generation platforms and generate more revenue and profit per user."
"With ARPU (average revenue per user) levels for voice calls on conventional systems declining, and conventional systems difficult to maintain, IP-based solutions turn voicemail back into a revenue-earning asset," said Huw Hampson-Jones, executive vice-president of sales at Mobeon. "Using PRIMEPOWER and the RTP4 platforms from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, operators can move towards technology standardisation in a highly scalable environment with five-nines availability levels, while extending voicemail and enhanced messaging systems to a wider audience."
