SAN FRANCISCO (February 18, 2004) — Critical Path, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPTH), a global provider of digital communications software and services, announced that it will be demonstrating new value-added services for carriers at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, February 23-26, 2004, in the company's exhibition stand J3 in Hall 3. There, attendees will be able to see how the Critical Path Communications Platform — which is available both as licensed software and hosted services — can be used to power a wide range of solutions for Mobile Messaging, PIM, Universal Address Books, and Multimedia Messaging.
At 3GSM, Critical Path will be showing examples of several such value-added services, including new carrier-based peer-to-peer contact sharing that extends the company's Universal Address Book solution to enable automatic updates of contact information and synchronization across mobile devices and PCs. With this new capability, carriers will be able to offer additional premium services that help increase subscriber loyalty and retention while also driving wireless data usage.
These value-added services are made possible by the modular Critical Path Communications Platform. It offers a broad set of integrated components - including email, address books, calendars, dynamic alerts, shared files, centralized profile management, multi-modal access, and end-to-end synchronization - that can be customized and tailored to the needs of multiple market segments from a single platform. As a result, wireless and wireline carriers can cut costs and time-to-market for delivering new, differentiated revenue-generating services to consumers, mobile professionals and small businesses.
