Following their appointment in December, Getronics’ new long-term leadership team (Klaas Wagenaar, Oswald Coene and Kevin Roche) has taken the next steps in aligning its global management organisation to provide the focus needed for the Company’s objectives in 2004.
Klaas Wagenaar, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Management, is enthusiastic about the renewed focus of his management team. “The idea of ‘dual citizenship’ is at the heart of the change,” explains Wagenaar. “We are creating a company where everybody in the Getronics network understands that they have both local and global responsibilities. Senior management will take the lead in this, as you can see from the revisions we have made to our international management team’s responsibilities.”
Increasing its already significant volumes of business with existing international clients is one of the top priorities for Getronics, and Board Member Oswald Coene will drive the initiative. “I have been deeply involved with many international accounts with origins in the Netherlands with clients including Shell and DSM, but this new responsibility gives me the opportunity to really raise the game for us, internationally.” Oswald Coene will be working particularly closely with UK General Manager, Roger Whitehead, in this initiative.
Another key area requiring exceptional international teamwork is business development with Getronics strategic alliances Cisco, Dell and Microsoft. Board Member Kevin Roche will take the lead here. “There are many opportunities for increased international collaboration with our strategic alliances,” comments Kevin Roche, “especially with regard to what we can achieve together with multi-national and global clients.”
