Getronics, a leading international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Company, today announces its intention to buy Nr.1 Software, a Dutch supplier of software licenses services, from Blue Fox Enterprises. All parties involved have signed a letter of intent. It is expected that the transaction will close at the end of January 2004, depending on the outcome of due diligence. No financial details will be disclosed.
Since its foundation in 1983, Nr. 1 Software has become one of the most specialised total suppliers of software licenses services in the Netherlands. The most important offering of Nr. 1 Software is managed licenses services for Microsoft software. Next to that, Nr. 1 Software offers licences services for Symantec, Adobe, IBM, Network Associates (McAfee), Computer Associates and Oracle. Nr. 1 Software has been able to build a distinguished set of customers such as airlines, energy companies, various hospitals and municipalities.

Getronics wishes to further strengthen and broaden its software licenses related services portfolio. License management is increasingly becoming an integral part of managed services contracts. Moreover, we can expand our position in Microsoft related services in our market. Through the acquisition of Nr.1 Software Getronics can establish a market leadership position in this segment and further strengthen its managed services portfolio in the Netherlands.”
Says Sjoerd Eisma, Chairman of the Blue Fox Board of Management: “Early last year Blue Fox decided to focus on its CAD/CAM/ERP core activities. Selling Nr.1 Software to Getronics fits with this strategy and will result in an even better situation for the existing customers of Nr.1 Software under Getronics’ wings.”
