AND International Publishers N.V. has been granted a patent on their invention to integrate and process route-information faster and more accurate. In protecting its UCP-technology (Unique Connection Point) AND strengthens its position as leader in markets for geointelligence.
The company herewith establishes a strong basis for the commercial success of its new services GeoAccess and GeoSource. 'This new technology enables us to react faster and more flexible to customer demands and to stay ahead of the competition' says Maarten Oldenhof, CEO of the company since November 2002. 'This goes for GeoAccess (AND's XML WebServices) as well as GeoSource (the outsourcing activities). AND has recently entered into partnerships for distribution of its services with prominent companies such as Siebel and BEA Systems.
Another important advantage of this technology are the realised time savings in maintenance and development of the databases with information from multiple third party sources. The growth and redevelopment of cities as well as the expansion of global road networks also demands significant efforts to keep the company's databases current and updated.
'UCP will reduce turnaround time needed to integrate new datasets in our 'Road Database by at least thirty percent', Maarten Oldenhof explains. 'Perhaps even more important for our customers is the fact that with this technology we can offer the best available network and faster product upgrades. With this innovation we are empowered to better integrate our 18,5 million kilometres of road data and 1,4 billion addresses in our databases with third party data, therefore you can imagine how excited we are with this breakthrough' he states.
