Utrecht, 11 juni 2003 - Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq: MUSE), toonaangevend leverancier van business en service assurance software, heeft zich aangesloten bij het Siemens Information en Communication Mobile (Siemens Mobile) OSS (Operations Support System) Partner Programma. Het OSS Partner Programma levert OSS-oplossingen voor 2G, 2.5G en 3G infrastructuren aan service providers van draadloze diensten. Deze operators zullen profiteren van de toegang tot de Netcool service assurance oplossing van Micromuse en krijgen tevens gecertificeerde en volledige support van Siemens mobile.
Deze vooraf geïntegreerde oplossingen, gezamenlijk ontwikkeld door Siemens mobile en Micromuse, zullen toegevoegde waarde hebben voor die aanbieders van draadloze diensten die investeringen in de bestaande IT infrastructuur volledig willen benutten. En ook voor de nieuwe operators op de markt die een complete oplossing zoeken voor het end-to-end managen van een nieuwe netwerk infrastructuur.
Service management en betrouwbaarheid worden de belangrijkste zaken voor operators omdat de grootte en complexiteit van het netwerk toeneemt, voornamelijk binnen een 3G infrastructuur. Het Siemens mobile OSS Partner Programma zal een aantal OSS functionaliteiten aanbieden, geïntegreerd om de Siemens draadloze infrastructuur apparatuur te ondersteunen en ontworpen met de technische hulp en testmethodes van Siemens. Het OSS Programma biedt operators één enkel contactpunt voor het managen van de draadloze infrastructuur, ook in multi-vendor netwerk omgevingen. Siemens mobile fungeert als hoofdaannemer voor de operator of als belangenbehartiger voor haar partners als een speciale OSS vendor aanbeveling wordt aangevraagd.
De voordelen van het Siemens mobile OSS Partner Program zijn een open interface policy, pre-integratie en gecoördineerde onderhoudsactiviteiten. Dit komt ten goede aan de snelheid en gemak van integratie en een soepeler gebruik en onderhoudsproces voor updaten en nieuwe producten.
Het Siemens mobile Partner Programma brengt de core competences van Siemens mobile voor telecommunicatie aanbieders samen met de core competence van Micromuse; operators een keuze kunnen aanbieden in end-to-end oplossingen op het service management niveau.
