AVEBE, a Dutch-based leading global player in starch products and derivatives, will outsource the technical management and maintenance of its information and communication (ICT) infrastructure in 20 countries, including the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United States, to Getronics. AVEBE and Getronics have signed a Letter of Intent to specify Getronics provision of managed services over a multi-year period. The contract is worth several million euros.
Services include an international helpdesk for all AVEBE employees as well as the technical management and maintenance of the entire ICT infrastructure. Getronics will also migrate existing AVEBE computer systems to Windows 2000/XP.
As a global service partner, Getronics will give AVEBE cost-effective value with these services. Michiel Puttman, ICT Director at AVEBE: "By outsourcing our ICT facilities to Getronics, AVEBE can now fully concentrate on its core activities. At the same time the continuity of our branch systems is guaranteed.”
According to Oswald Coene, managing director of Getronics Nederland BV, the agreement confirms the added value of Getronics’ offering: "The services we offer AVEBE are a good example of end-to-end hardware and software management: we offer businesses integrated ICT solutions. With our international presence we can support multi-national companies like AVEBE in optimising their operations.”
In addition to these outsourced services, Getronics will team up with Magentis, a Vertis subsidiary, to support AVEBE’s business-critical SAP environment.
