Houten – March 25, 2003: Redwood Software, provider of infrastructure automation solutions, today announced that its market-leading job-scheduling product, Cronacle Version 5.7, is one of the first interface software solutions to be fully certified for the SAP? interface for Background Processing/Job Scheduling (BC-XBP) version 2.0 on the SAP Web Application Server Release 6.10. With this successful certification, Redwood Software affirms its commitment to customers using SAP solutions.
Cronacle is Redwood’s flagship process management and job-scheduling solution that integrates seamlessly with the SAP Web Application Server to manage all batch workloads of SAP and other solutions. Already an SAP-certified solution for earlier BC-XBP releases, Cronacle adds to the capabilities of the native SAP job scheduler, providing advanced monitoring capabilities and easy execution of jobs from a single console.
SAP’s new release of BC-XBP 6.10 (Version 2.0) offers an enhanced interface that enables software vendors to provide users of SAP solutions the ability to manage and monitor their critical batch processes within their SAP solution-based environment. Redwood Software’s Cronacle is one of the first scheduling solutions to receive certification for the new SAP release of the interface.
Cronacle Version 5.7 offers SAP customers the following:
- The ability to manage and monitor “mass activity” jobs. This is where a “parent” job spawns a number of related “child” jobs. Cronacle can determine the exact status of each and every job, ensuring that critical processes are completed on time.
- The ability to manage and control ad-hoc, end-user submitted jobs. Cronacle intercepts these ad-hoc jobs and only starts processing them as soon as resources become available, eliminating the issues of unplanned workloads putting a strain on system resources.
The above functionality is already available to Cronacle users and compatible with SAP Basis Releases 3.1,4.0, 4.5 and 4.6 as part of the SAP R/3? software solution. The integration between Cronacle Version 5.7 and the SAP interface BC-XBP 6.10 (Version 2.0) offers the extra assurance of an SAP-certified integration to SAP customers with SAP R/3 Releases 4.5 and 4.6 as well as those with SAP Web Application Server 6.10 and 6.20.
