Dublin, January 08, 2003: In a major implementation of its flagship access and authorisation control product, Baltimore Technologies (London: BLM), a global leader in e-security, today announced that Siemens Transportation Systems Group (TS), a division of Siemens AG, has implemented Baltimore SelectAccess(tm) to enable centralised management and control of access rights to its corporate intra- and extranet. Siemens TS is implementing access control to web-enable critical business applications, including, for example, secure access to their Sun iPlanet Portal, for both internal employees and external partners.
Siemens TS required a web access control solution that would enable the division to manage the rights and entitlements of different types of users across their extensive organisation. The division is responsible for worldwide deployment of trains, rolling stock and railway infrastructure. It has 17,100 employees and a network of 2,800 vendors and partners worldwide.
